THE MARTIAL ARTS FESTIVAL: WHAT DOES 2016 HOLD FOR US?
Every year, the Martial Arts Festival unites the greatest masters of all the martial arts of the world, and offers fascinating performances, including acrobatics, demonstrations and competitions. In 2015, the ancestral arts will have a place of honor (Okinawan karate, Japanese sword), as well as the demonstrations of self-defense. There will also be artistic shows (performances by Divas and La Mante Belge) and competitions. The entire schedule will be updated as soon as the information is released. The Martial Arts Festival is a magical and captivating experience, great for both kids and adults.
ORIGINS OF THE FESTIVAL: THE MARTIAL ARTS HONORED SINCE 1985
It is in 1985 that the first martial arts festival was held (at the time it was called “Nuit des Arts Martiaux” or “Night of Martial Arts”) for the sole purpose of uniting the greatest masters of all the martial arts once a year for demonstrations, each more spectacular than the other. From the classics (karate, Krav-Maga) to the more obscure (Uzbek Kurash), the grand champions (Rickson Gracie) to action movie stars (Jean-Claude Van Damme), the festival is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the traditions and values of martial arts. The festival welcomes over 15,000 spectators in one day, which actually makes it one of the biggest martial arts festivals in the world.
